Airfix's Boeing 737-200 in 1/144 scale has been around since 1969. With this in mind, the purchaser must expect that it will not fall together like a modern, state-of-the-art kit. However, the model is fairly accurate and easy to build. Prepare for reasonable work puttying seams, filling a few sinkholes, and some minor trimming and sanding will be in order to improve parts fit. This would be a good kit for a modeler's first airliner. Decals for two airlines are included--Air New Zealand, and colorful Ansett of Australia. The decals include a nice set of accurate emergency exit pathway markings that may be used with the many aftermarket decal sets available. This is a nice feature, as most of these sets do not include them. Many airlines flew the venerable 737-200, and numerous aftermarket decals are available providing options for modelers wishing to depict airlines not included with the kit. This builder would recommend sanding off the raised details before painting to improve the realism of the finished model. Windows can be filled with a clear window maker liquid (Testors Clear parts cement/window maker works great), or the modeler can fill the windows with putty before painting, sand smooth, and use aftermarket window decals to complete the model. Boeing's 737-200 was in use worldwide from the 1970's through the 2000's, so the modeler can use this kit as a blank canvas to represent aircraft from the early jet age through the 21st century
